Sonia Moshfeghi

Sonia Moshfeghi is a highly accomplished engineer specializing in road, transportation, and data engineering. With a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in highway and transportation engineering, she possessed a solid academic foundation and practical experience. Through her research, she aims to develop innovative solutions that enhance traffic management, reduce congestion, and promote safety and sustainable transportation practices. Her passion for advancing the field of transportation engineering led her to pursue a Ph.D. at Florida Atlantic University, where she currently serves as a research assistant. Her primary focus is utilizing artificial intelligence and data science techniques in transportation engineering to improve efficiency. Her expertise encompasses many areas, including data analysis, traffic flow analysis, signal processing, vision sensing and image processing, road design, transportation planning, and project management. With a background in civil engineering, a master’s degree in road and transportation engineering, and ongoing research efforts at Florida Atlantic University, she is poised to make substantial contributions to the Center for Smart Streetscapes, paving the way for more efficient and sustainable transportation systems.
