Looking back on 2023 My Streetscape Summer Research Institute: Where is Ezra Ju now?

With our 2023 My Streetscape Summer Research Institute participants graduating from high school, they have exciting updates on their plans, and insightful reflections on the CS3 experience.

Ezra Ju shared a standout memory from CS3, his upcoming plans, and research areas of interest:

”My most memorable experience at CS3 has been going out into the surrounding Harlem community to conduct fieldwork and interview pedestrians. Although this was somewhat challenging at first, with many pedestrians not wanting to be interviewed, I eventually found the narratives that make the perspectives of community stakeholders so valuable.

”In this upcoming summer, I plan to be a mentor for the next Streetscape Summer Research Institute cohort. In the fall, I will be attending Johns Hopkins University and I hope to become a mentor for an FRC Robotics program down in Baltimore.

”I hope to get involved in biomolecular engineering research, specifically in nanotechnology and therapeutics.”

In September 2023, Ezra presented his summer research during a public photovoice exhibit at The Forum in Harlem.
