Walter T. Alexander
Born in Harlem Hospital, Walter has proudly called Harlem home for 46 years, residing in his cherished apartment. A dedicated community advocate, he has been a member of Manhattan Community Board 9 since 1981. Walter currently serves as the co-chair of the Senior Action Committee and is an active member of the Arts & Culture Committee, driven by his passion for fostering positive change in his neighborhood.
A retired professional, Walter concluded a distinguished career with the NYC Department of Homeless Services in 2016. In retirement, he remains actively involved with NYC Retirees and Crisis Intervention of SSEU Local 371, contributing his expertise and compassion to meaningful causes.
Walter is proud to be part of the CS3 Cohort, where he continues to expand his impact on the community.
